About us

We, Paul Bavelaar and Raphaela Martens, love animals, especially dogs and horses – not only ours, but all of them.

Paul has a doctorate in law and is admitted to the bar in the Netherlands (“Advocaat”) and in Germany (Rechtsanwalt). Among other things, he specializes in equine law (see www.bavelaar.nl). He grew up with horses and competed in national and international show jumping competitions until 2019.

Raphaela is a musician and gives cello and piano lessons. She is also a conductor of a classical orchestra (see www.orchester-accento.de) and is active in chamber music as a cellist (see www.trio-animo.de). Raphaela has been riding since childhood and has therefore also a lot of experience with horses.

We run the Alme Hof together with employed professionals and look after your horses together.  Our chosen careers enable us to work from home extensively. Therefore, seven days a week there is always professional and loving supervision for all the animals living on the Alme Hof.

Besides dogs and horses, we also have sheeps and chickens on Alme Hof.
